I truly love to capture the special qualities of weddings. I adore the ways in which the people, places, and things seem to glow with special light.
It is my job to capture that light and keep it safe as the wedding unfolds. In this sense, wedding photography feels to me a bit like catching butterflies.
My presence at a wedding is focused and enthusiastic. Sometimes I am a ring leader to ensure formal portraits with family proceed smoothly and quickly. At other times, I am the quiet and unobtrusive documentarian, especially during the ceremony. Knowing when to take the lead and knowing when to remain quiet keeps the day running smoothly and creates exceptionally meaningful images that reflect the day's emotional range.
On the technical side, I've studied photography - the practice, history, and theory - nearly my entire life. I have a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the University of Colorado and a Master's of Arts degree in the History of Art from the University of Arizona.
It is this strong foundation and my sheer love of the art that creates truly beautiful photographs for you to cherish.
